Welcome to Term 2

I trust you have enjoyed a restful term break and are ready for an exciting term.

A number of our students have been busy in recent times. Of particular note is Catherine Viney (Yr 11) who received Gold and Silver medals for equestrian events in the Special Olympic Games See Facebook Post here and our team sailors who achieved extraordinary results at the State Team Sailing Regatta held in Goolwa.

Congratulations and well done!!!

Your Best Self

Our College Board in consultation with the College Leadership is undertaking a review of the College’s strategic direction and identity within our community. Using the expertise of an external consultant, the Board examined particular challenges and opportunities for he College in the short, medium and long term – highlighting what we already do very well, but perhaps without due recognition and acknowledgement.

The final report from the consultant provides the Board and the College a clear direction to consolidate and develop our position as a ‘school that sets the benchmark; striving to be a leader in our community and recognised as the first–choice educator on the South Coast’.

The College Board has recently adopted the following Purpose, Mission and Vision statements.

Our Purpose
Everything we do is about: Providing the opportunity to be your best self.

Our Mission
To recognise and ensure that: Everything we do is an investment in community, wellbeing and the future.

Our Vision
We want to be: A leader in the community, recognised as the first-choice educator on the South Coast.

As a staff team, our Term commencement (Monday 30 April and Tuesday 1 May) has provided a valuable opportunity for discussions and consultation with the aim to generate and document a common understanding of how we, on a day to day/pragmatic level, model our Value statements to each other, and to our students, parents and the wider community.

These Value statements will be shared with the College community in due course.

Finally, you should have received the Notice of Meeting for our AGM. Our AGM, to be held on Wednesday 23 May, is an important opportunity to celebrate the College’s achievements in 2017. The evening will also be held in our new Little Investigators Early Learning Centre. This will be a superb opportunity to view this extraordinary facility which will open for students on Monday 7 May.
