Investigator College is proud of its extensive Japanese language and exchange program. Students commence Japanese language and cultural studies in Reception, with the opportunity to continue studying through to SACE at Year 12.

Japanese teacher assistants

Each year Investigator College hosts Teacher Assistants who come from Japan to assist in the learning of language and culture. This is a most valuable experience for both the Assistants and our students, as they are able to enrich the learning for Investigator students as well as having the opportunity to develop their own English and teaching skills.

Japanese Exchange Program

Investigator College has a rich exchange program with Japan. We host a number of groups of Japanese students each year, including students from Misono and Yamanashi. Investigator families have the opportunity to host secondary students from Japan in their own homes.

Students from Years 9 and 10 may participate in a unique opportunity to travel to Japan during their Middle School years. During their two week visit, students are hosted by Japanese families in a rural village, and experience travelling to many significant sites and cities across Japan.
