BYOD Purchase Portal
Investigator College will continue with JB Hifi Education to provide a purchase portal to provide an easy way to purchase a Lenovo laptop that matches the required device specifications.
This improvement allows parents to purchase a device and have the device delivered to the school as individual orders in a batch to ensure smooth delivery to the students. Parents can elect to purchase with credit card or consider rent to buy options, and choose a device which suits their needs. Please refer to the flyer below for more information.

Ordering and Delivery
Every BYOD order is packed individually in its own satchel with the device and any bag they may choose during ordering and then sealed with their details and SBP order number outlined clearly for distribution. In the case of an order going missing then JB Hifi have procedures in place to correct any problems and ensure the customer / parent isn’t inconvenienced. The tracking request feature is available to every parent nationwide this year.
Delivery
- All orders are delivered directly to your home address upon ordering. This will allow you to unbox the laptop and run through the Windows setup wizard at home and be ready to commence on the first day of school.
Warranty
- Onsite warranty jobs can be left at Investigator College Victor Harbor student services clearly labelled with their name and classroom and problem description as the technician generally arrives sometime during office hours.
- Investigator IT staff are happy to assist should a warranty issue not be resolved to the parents satisfaction, and we have a dedicated account manager for this partnership. Please email the BYOD delivery team via byod@investigator.sa.edu.au for any questions or issues and we will be glad to assist in any way.
These frequently asked questions are regarding the BYOD portal.
Q: I have two students in school and need to buy two laptops through the BYOD portal. How do I do this?
A: You will need to create two separate orders in the BYOD portal. Orders are shipped with students and parents names to the school with individual tracking for ease of distribution.
Q: I have found a better price for a device that is listed in the BYOD portal.
A: The BYOD portal has been implemented to give parents an easy solution to purchasing a device rather than driving to Adelaide and purchasing a retail device. The pricing includes freight to Victor Campus, and may or may not be an exact specifications match to devices listed on other sites. Parents are encouraged to shop around and choose a device that suits their needs.
Q: I purchased insurance from JB Hifi. Does this cover overseas travel?
A: Insurance covers damage to equipment regardless of location. Repairs will need to be carried out in Australia. Refer to the PDS for more information.
