Pastoral Care...
At Investigator College, we believe that pastoral care is an essential facet of a Christian school. "Pastoral" is used in its biblical sense; as a shepherd. The school provides a Christian context for care and guidance through class teachers, home group teachers, Heads of School, School Counsellor and Student Leaders.
The Home Group Teacher (Secondary) and Class Teacher (Primary) is the most easily accessible point of contact for student, parent and school. These teachers provide special care for the students as they provide the first meeting place each day. Emotional, academic or behavioural issues can be addressed immediately and effectively.
Heads of School provide support for Home Group and Class Teachers, students and parents/guardians. They provide a focal point for the entire sub-school as they seek to nurture a positive, cooperative spirit through their guidance and discipline.
The School Counsellor is available for private counselling for students, parents/guardians and teachers, adding a private, confidential and spiritual dimension to our pastoral care.
Student Leaders and House Captains assist the Heads of School and Home Group and Class Teachers with organisational duties. They also provide role models and support for younger students.
