Our Investigator Girls team wins the Year 7-9 9-a-side AFL carnival, with the boys team finishing 3rd!

On Wednesday 28 September the Year 7-9 9-a-side AFL carnival took place at Encounter Bay. This carnival comprised of boys and girls teams from Victor High, Encounter, Mt Barker, Yankalilla, Eastern Fleurieu and Seaford.

Our girls team was fantastic all day and you could see their confidence in attacking the football and running hard with the ball grow with each game they played. The highly enthusiastic bunch brought energy and strong tackles with every game and was able to win all their games except one. This secured their final positioning in 1st place overall out of 7 teams! A great achievement for the girls.

The boys team found similar success in their day winning all their games except one. Unfortunately, the game they lost was to go into the grand final. Their final game of the day was for 3rd place and, although the game was tight early, they were able to kick away towards the end of the game securing 3rd place out of 10 teams for the day. Well done to the boys!
