Volunteering at
Investigator College

In our classrooms and across our College community, Investigator College invites parents, caregivers, family members and friends to participate in life and learning through a number of volunteer opportunities.

From assisting with supervision on camps and excursions to lending a hand with in-classroom activities and community events, the involvement of our volunteers is highly valued by our staff and school leaders.

Volunteering is a fantaastic way for parents and families to play an active role in their child’s education, while also providing an additional benefit to other students, staff and our College as a whole.

To volunteer at Investigator College,  we require two important documents:

These documents can be returned (together) to the College Administration at any time, and we will happily add you to our list of available volunteers.

Volunteer Opportunities

Investigator College is a busy place! Each term a number of our classes participate in an ever-changing calendar of excursions, incursions, curriculum activities and learning events that provide excellent opportunities for volunteers to play a key role in assisting our classroom teachers.

In addition, and often in partnership with our Parents and Friends Association, we host a number of community events throughout the school year where extra assistance from volunteers is always greatly appreciated.

Some regular volunteer opportunities include:

  • Assisting with class or year level excursions;
  • Helping with the care and maintenance of our EcoCentre and wetlands at Currency Creek;
  • Engaging with students in our Junior School classrooms through Reading Activities or visits to The Hub;
  • Assisting with cooking and hospitality at school-wide events (Open Day, Dogs In The Quad, Mothers/Fathers Day Breakfasts);
  • Sharing specialist skills or insights with students as a guest speaker or panel member.

If you are interested in any of the above, we invite you register as an Investigator College Volunteer!

Working With Children Checks

In line with our commitment to providing a safe and caring environment for our students and staff, we do require that all our volunteers have a valid South Australian Working With Children Check (WWCC).

Working With Children Checks are facilitated by the South Australian Government. For more information about applying for or obtaining a WWCC, please visit the South Australian Government website.
