Spirit of Investigator Scholarship

The Spirit of Investigator Scholarship is Investigator College’s highest recognition of personal excellence.

The scholarship is provided to a young person who embodies the very best of our aspirational values — dedication to learning, engagement in co-curricular or community activity, and a commitment to academic excellence.

Open to applicants entering Year 7 or above in 2026, the scholarship offers a 50% discount on school fees for the remainder of schooling, representing a potential saving of over $20,000.

Who can apply?

Applications are exclusively open to students who do not currently attend Investigator College.

Students entering Year 7 to Year 12 in 2026 are eligible to apply.

Selection criteria

  • Academic excellence: Supporting documentation may include school reports, NAPLAN results, and certificates or awards recognising academic performance.

  • Community & co-curricular engagement: Applicants should outline their involvement in school activities or contribution to community groups, showcasing participation and/or achievement.

  • Commitment & attitude: Consideration will be given to students who show initiative, consistent effort, and a positive approach to both learning and extracurricular involvement.

Consideration is also given to candidates with demonstrated financial needs who would not otherwise be able to attend.

A maximum of one Spirit of Investigator Scholarship is awarded annually. No scholarship will be awarded if the Principal decides that applicants do not satisfactorily meet the criteria.

Application process

Applications must be received by midnight on Sunday 17 August 2025. They are completed via our online portal and must be completed in a single session.

Following the closing date, the Senior Leadership Team will review all applications and create a shortlist for interviews. Applicants will be notified at this stage about whether they have progressed.

Interviews will be conducted at the College and applying students will respond verbally to a short series of questions.

The Senior Leadership Team will then allocate the scholarship. The succesful applicant will be presented with a Letter of Offer and a Scholarship Agreement, which must be signed by all relevant parties and returned before the scholarship is officially awarded.
