The Junior School Welcomes You

Sunday, 4 February 2024
I would like to warmly welcome all members of the Investigator community to a brand new school year.

Grant Bock

Head of Junior School

I have no doubt that as the year unfolds there will be many activities and developments that will make 2024 a very special year. 2024 is especially exciting for those joining the Investigator Community for the very first time.

New Students

Welcome to new ELC students, Ava, Rafferty, April, Lua, Eadie and Savannah and in our Junior school, we welcome Chester, Vivaree, Kayne, Zen, Bethany, Charlotte, Marcus, Jack, Isabelle, Asha, Ella, Jet, Chloe, Judd, Hudson, Ziya, Tayla, Joey, Owen, Tristan, Vinny, Daisy, Olivia, Emily, Jacob, Sophia and Bradley.

What about the staff?

As well as students and their families joining the Investigator community we have new staff members in the Junior School (pictured above).

Mrs Michelle Brougham has joined the staff as the Director of our Early Learning Centre. Michelle has previously had a role overseeing a number of early childhood centres and we are delighted that she has joined our team. This thriving part pf the school community is a real joy to visit and a thriving part of the School community.

Mrs Sophie Hunt has also joined the team and we are very fortunate to have her. Sophie has been a teacher for over 10 years and brings her experience from McLaren Vale Primary to the children of Year 2.

Mrs Jen Luxford has also joined our team in Learning Support person moving from class to class helping students where needed.

Mrs Carly Bollenhagen (nee Legg) has had a very exciting start to 2024. While she has regularly relieved in various classes around the school over the past year or so, she has joined the school as a full-time class teacher looking after a Year 1 class. As if that isn’t exciting enough, at the risk of confusing her students and their parents with a name change so early in the year, she has also married Jarrad just last week. So many new beginnings!

I am the other new staff member joining the Junior School team and I am delighted to have the opportunity to contribute to the College community. I have most recently been the long term Head of Westminster Prep School, but prior to that have worked in Arabic schools in Dubai, at St Peters College, Mannum Primary and Port Lincoln Primary. I am very fortunate to be married to Lisa and we have three adult sons – Fraser, Harvey and Wilson who are all making their way in the world as well as occasionally cooking a meal and keeping their room tidy!

Junior School Update

The Junior School was a sea of colour recently when all children from Reception to Year 6 were involved in our annual athletics carnival. The Junior Primary students had the opportunity to challenge themselves in a series of activities that involved running, jumping and throwing.  The students from Years 3 – 6 took it up a notch as they represented their House in a series of events designed to encourage participation by all, as well as the opportunity for the athletically-able to excel.
