Flexible Early Learning that suits your work week

Thursday, 16 April 2026
At Little Investigators Early Learning Centre, we know how important flexibility is to family wellbeing. That’s why we do our best to provide a preschool service that adapts to your needs — helping you to achieve the work–life balance that’s right for you. In this article, we’ve outlined a few of the ways we make life that bit easier for our families.

Choose your own days

At Little Investigators ELC, we recommend a minimum of three days for both our three- and four-year-old preschool programs. This helps maximise educational benefits and build consistent routines that prepare children for school.

However, the choice of regular days is up to you. Many families opt for four or five days, removing the need to access more than one service and creating greater consistency in learning for their child.

When comparing options, it’s worth checking that the service you choose can accommodate your preferred schedule — now and as your child progresses to older programs.

Long-day care

Our standard learning day runs from 9:00am to 3:30pm. However, our doors open at 8:00am, and families using our post-care program can collect their child any time up to 5:00pm.

Outside School Hours Care

For children aged four and above, we offer Outside School Hours Care, facilitated by the YMCA and hosted right on campus. This extends drop-off to as early as 6:45am and pick-up to as late as 6:30pm — perfect for busy working parents.

Start when you’re ready

Once your child turns three, they can start at any time. There’s no need to wait for the beginning of a term or school year.

When they approach school age, children can commence Reception at the start of the year, or join our Prep class mid-year, depending on their age.

ELC families also benefit from an Enrolment Guarantee, ensuring a guaranteed place at Investigator College (but with no obligation to take it up).

Childcare subsidy

All eligible families can access the Government’s Child Care Subsidy, which makes our already affordable service even more accessible.

From 2026, the Government’s new Three Day Guarantee has made things easier again — providing every family with three subsidised days per week, regardless of how much they work, study or volunteer (with the exception of very high earners).

This makes it easier for many families to enrol their child for the recommended three days.

Paired with our high-quality education and warm, experienced educators, our flexibility makes Little Investigators ELC the service of choice for many families across the Fleurieu Peninsula.

We’d be delighted to discuss our centre’s availability with families and invite you to tour our Centre.
