Investigator College is forging ahead in a new direction as we look to the future and the evolving world that is education. We want our students to be future-ready. Our building of the new two-story Innovation Centre has already commenced, and we look forward to that beginning to evolve throughout 2025.
Our subject offerings continue to evolve and grow across the entire secondary school, and we are expecting excellent results from our outgoing Year 12 class of 2024. We also look forward to the further expansion of Investig8 in 2025 as it will now be available to our Year 10 students.
It would be almost impossible to list all of the highlights of 2024 within the Secondary School, but just a few notable mentions would be:
- The Year 12 Graduation Assembly and Dinner in Term 4 of our cohort of 41 wonderful individuals. Both of these events allowed us to celebrate and farewell our graduating class of 2024. Many of the students have been students of Investigator College since Reception, way back in 2012. We wish them all the greatest happiness and success in the future.
- The Year 11 and 12 Formal, which is always a highlight and this year’s event at One Paddock Winery was no exception.
- The ongoing success of Year 10 work experience, as we sent 62 students out into the workforce for a week.
- The very first winter sleepout for our Year 11 students
- The very first Year 12 mid-year Retreat at our beautiful Currency Creek site
- The return of Surf Carnival
- Our highly successful robotics champion teams
- 3 teams entering into the National Volleyball Cup on the Gold Coast
- RU OK Day. A truly wonderful College day where we all joined together to raise money for a very worthy cause.
- Year 7 & 8 outdoor education camps
- The Year 9 led Relay for Life, raising valuable funds for the Cancer Council
- Numerous sporting achievements in volleyball, netball, basketball, just to name a few.
- The School Musical – always a huge success
- Spring Showcase
- The Secondary School students of Investigator College! They are an absolute pleasure to teach and lead and I have personally felt so supported and encouraged by them this year.
- Our incredible staff, right across the College. It is an absolute pleasure to work with them all. Their level of dedication and professionalism is simply outstanding. We have a staff retention of 100% this year, with the exception of Larissa Lyons who is taking a year’s leave. We also welcome two new staff members in 2025. Sarah Kwong into our English and Drama faculties and our new SACE and Future Pathways coordinator, Melissa Kerin.
Thank you to our entire College community for the support we have felt in the Secondary School this year. You trusted us to guide the ship and embrace the new challenges and I am confident we accomplished our goals. I wish you all a safe and happy holiday period and look forward to what lies ahead in 2025.
