“Congratulations to Senator Charlotte Walker on her truly outstanding achievement,” College Principal John Robinson said.

“The leadership capabilities and strong values that made her a talented College Captain prepare her to be a talented Senator.

“She was a kind and hard-working student who took her leadership role very seriously, featured in our musical Matilda, and pioneered a key sustainability event we still hold annually at our Currency Creek EcoCentre.”

Senator Walker was a College Co-Captain in her final year of school alongside Kane Cody, managing her leadership role on top of her academic workload.

Within the program, she like other student leaders had the opportunity to lead events and fundraising, engage in public speaking and professional development, and act as a voice for and to students, Mr Robinson said.

“We take Senator Walker’s achievement as a sign that we are managing to build the requisite confidence and skills in our student leaders to take on the world once they graduate.

“Her success will give self-belief to our current students who also dream of one day excelling in politics, leadership and advocacy.”
