Robotics on National Stage

Friday, 8 December 2023
Investigator College’s first foray into the world of VEX Robotic has been an outstanding success, with two teams earning places at the recent National Championships in Adelaide.

Competing against 40 of Australia’s best teams, and comprising a third of the representation from South Australia, our Investigator College VEXYS and Circuit Breakers narrowly missed out on a place in the finals, finishing just shy of advancement by a solitary point.

Despite some initial disappointment at the result, our teams managed to impress the judging panel in some significant and encouraging ways, with each team receiving a special award for their conduct and contribution to the competition. Our VEXYS were presented with the tournament Sportsmanship Award recognising their outstanding conduct throughout, while our Circuit Breakers received the Judge’s Award, presented to the team who had the best interview with the judges about the design and progression of their robots build.

Recognised for their efforts, and presented with their medallions at Speech and Celebration Day, our inaugural VEX Robotics Teams should be exceptionally proud of their efforts this year – and we look forward to returning to the National arena in 2024!
